5 words
Thanks again for all the opinions on what to do regarding the baby shower. I talked to my mom about my concerns and she shared them. While we were at Walmart we began browsing around and she pretty much confirmed she is going to buy me a bassinet we saw and liked which will work for the short term. A P&P is something we’ll get once she starts being mobile. My aunt Luann also has a crib I *might* be getting depending upon circumstances we’ll find out today. That covers that issue and as far as everything else, you’re right it doesn’t hurt to stock up and I don’t really need lotion and such the day she’s home. We can get it within a reasonable time frame if it’s an issue.
While I’m blogging I figured I’d do the 5 words thing that is going around. Angela gave them to me 2 weeks ago and I hadn’t gotten around to blogging about them yet.
Marriage
Marriage is something I find very important to two people. This isn’t a religious reason but the fact that two people have decided to be joined together *hopefully* forever. The legal benefits aren’t too shabby either and I worried before Randy got married about them especially regarding his work health insurance and medical issues if something were to come up during birth, etc. We were planning on it anyways and we figured now was as good of a time as any and I’m glad we were able to throw it together so quickly with the help of my family who did the majority of organizing.
Pets
Pets are like kids. They’re family and are treated as such. We spoil our dog rotten. He sleeps with us, travels with us, and has free roam of the house to pretty much do what he pleases within reason. We almost didn’t move out when we did due to not being able to find a place that allowed him but we weren’t giving up. I find it very sad to see so many people give up pets for whatever reason. I wouldn’t throw out my child due to an issue and I definitely wouldn’t my pet. Currently, he’s curled up napping with his daddy.
Education
Education is something I’m not so sure about. It’s great to be knowledgeable about subjects but I feel too much stress is placed on being book smart and having a degree as opposed to knowing a trade or skill. I am book smart, my husband is not for example. He struggles with typical things, especially math and reading. However, he can fix a car like it’s nobody’s business due to being self taught. He’s currently making more money than a lot of college educated people. I don’t like the stigma attached to people who don’t have a formal degree.
Pregnancy
Sucks. Flat out. It’s not glorious, beautiful, or rainbows and butterflies. It’s hell in a hand basket but completely worth it for the end result of a beautiful new life. I don’t have to enjoy my body being overtaken for 9 months though. That’s my stance and I’m stickin’ to it.
Time
There is never enough for some things and too much for others. Sometimes it drags, sometimes it speeds. I don’t really know how to think of it sometimes.
If you want 5 words, leave a comment and I’ll try to come up with 5 for you.
A flat tire leads the way
Today started out as a good day. I left the house to go sell a few Darien Lake tickets to a friend for $50 which I was grateful for b/c it helps curb costs. Well I get there at 8:30 and come back to my little town. I decide to get the pop for the wedding today while I was already out since it was supposed to be close to 90F. I pull into Tops parking lot and hear hissing. Once I get out I see my driver side rear tire quickly deflating. After groaning and trying to call my brother (since he was at my house with Randy) and getting a turned off phone, I get ahold of mom. She gets woken up, has to drive 28 miles to get me, and we drive about 1 mile to get Randy. If I wasn’t 8 months pregnant with constantly swollen feet combined with it being 84F by the time it happened I probably would’ve walked home to get him.
We grabbed him out of a dead sleep and he put my spare on for me (which I also know how to do) and we came back home. Apparently there was a screw in my tire. Being that it’s a clean hole we should be able to patch it and not have to spend money to replace it. After arriving home and hitting the hay again we got up at about 4:30. Since then I’ve been doing ChaCha along with making dinner which was lasagna made with venison sausage and was absolutely declious. Now? My brother, Corey, Randy, and I are all set up in the living room on our computers. It’s typical for Saturdays because it’s Randy’s only day off. Him working 6 days a week sucks sometimes.
We can’t forget Colby in this mix though. I’ve moved my desk to being right in front of the fan due to the 90 degree heat. It’s going to be this bad for the next 2 days too. UGH. Currently the forecast for the wedding is low 70’s and cloudy but no rain so YAY.
I’m back
Well, I’m back in the blogging world. It’s good to be back. The website is obviously still in progress and if you see any errors or have suggestions to make feel free to drop me an email atsilvergirl0007@gmail.com
For those of you who don’t know me too well, my name is Amanda or Manda. You can read more about me on the Manda page. I’m a 21 year old soon to be married and work at home soon to be mommy. (EDD: Sept 22nd, 2009) I spend way too much time online. The domain name stems from my impatience and how I always feel like I’m waiting for someone or something.
If anyone wants to do a link exchange feel free to let me know in the comments and I’ll get right on that.
