The past stings
My twitter followers should know this already but our entire tax refund was taken on both the state and federal levels to pay for spousal support to Randy’s ex. I really don’t want to get into ALL the details about how much bullshit this whole situation is BUT we were expecting $6800 or so and she is now basking in it, plus her tax refund. It makes my blood boil and it stings knowing that she gets that money that she is definitely not entitled to.
I wrote a past entry about it with details but in short they were married a month and she got knocked up by another guy but Randy didn’t show up to court while he was in the halfway house 3 hours away so he got a ruling against him and it didn’t get terminated for almost 2 years at $75/week. He now owes about $300 to her and then that will be done. I can file an injured spouse form but like we both said, why? They’ll just take it next year from his portion and it’s better for both of us to just let this finish itself out and put her in the past completely. Karma will bite her in the ass in the future. He fully admits she was his biggest mistake, even moreso than him going to prison. I keep telling myself that she may have taken his money but we have each other, our beautiful daughter, and money will continue to come in our direction from his hard earned paychecks.
On the other note here, this means we are now stuck here a bit longer than we anticipated. We owe my parents for our vehicle and then we have to save up to move out again, which gets rather pricey as many may know. *sigh* Being grown up is definitely no fun.
Goodbye my faithful Taurus
Well Randy and I have had a few minor issues with our car for awhile but nothing that made it un-drivable, until a slip on slush had our ass end hit a curb at less than 5mph. Our unibody was so weak that it is now bent, aka, shot. So we began the hunt for a new vehicle. We surfed Craigslist for an hour or so and Randy called one and said I think I found one. We made arrangements to have his mom take us down (75 miles one way!) and made absolute certain we had all the stuff to transfer our current registration over so we could drive back. After the DMV we were the happy owners of a 1996 Chevy Blazer. About 10 miles down the road 1 of the brake lines blew due to it sitting for awhile and the pressure so it was ever so fun driving back with only front brakes, I tell ya. When all was said and done though we did make it back in 1 piece and now it is sitting in my driveway. Randy will be replacing the brake line tomorrow after work since he’s running on no sleep and needs rest before his shift tonight. It has a remote starter and brand new tires on it (less than 300 miles) and routine maintenance. We only paid $1,000 for it as well.
Gracie had her 4 month appointment tomorrow as well. She got her shots again and cried for all of 30 seconds. As soon as I handed her to daddy she was content. She is 24 inches long and weighs 13lb13oz. The doctor LOVED my cloth diapers. He had me show him how to use them (inserts in pockets) and then said he liked them and they were much better than disposables against the skin. Here is a picture I just took of her. My flash on my camera doesn’t work anymore (idk why) but it’s why pictures are few and far between now.
Looking for a new place to live
I really don’t have a lot to say lately. It’s why I haven’t blogged in like 5 or 6 days now. Randy has been on vacation which began on December 23rd and went back tonight. It’s weird not having him here now since I’ve gotten so used to him being around constantly. He said it is bitter sweet because he’s been bored but I can tell that he’s going to miss actually getting to spend time with her. His life is about to return to work and sleep. He’s also going to be trying to work as much over time as possible but who knows how that will go since apparently the opposite department is on layoff for cleaning/machine maintence/whatever so some will be in his department, cutting down hours.
Oh yeah. I’ve tlaked about it on message boards and twitter but we have to be out of our apartment. We got a 30 day notice on December 30th. I guess the owner of the house wants to renovate or something. Our “landlord” is just the property manager. They have other properties but they’re out of the county and too far from both his work and our families. We don’t have the option of leaving the county. She assured us we have done nothing wrong and she was really apologetic but now we are in a bit of a rut trying to come up with security + first month rent for a new place PLUS finding somewhere that allows Colby who is 55lbs of lazy before February 1st. Moving isn’t an issue b/c we both have a nice network of family/friends with trucks and manpower but still. *sigh* We’re tying to band together and not stress which causes fights. If it comes down to it, we could always go to 1 of our parents’ houses but they barely have room for themselves, let alone 3 extra people. We’ll just take it day by day though. It’s all we can do, right?
O Hai blogging world
Thank you for the comments on our little “on the fly” family photograph. I feel like I haven’t blogged in forever but it’s only been less than a week. December was looking pretty grim financially but a break here and another there has made it a lot more bearable on the pocket and we are able to still buy Christmas presents for our families now.
On the ick note, Randy finally got the support paperwork that states he has to pay $7,200 or something similar for spousal support to his ex wife. It’s at my parent’s house but we’re going to get it this weekend when we go over. We will be sending the absolute minimum possible per week, especially considering circumstances. It’s a messed up situation all over that never should’ve even occurred but NY is stupid like that. We have each other and our daughter. That’s something she can never have influence over.
So onto bigger and better things. Pictures are Monday at 3:30. Depending on sitting fee costs, I may consider family portraits if possible but who knows. I’ve never had professional pictures done before and they’re mad expensive from what I’ve seen. We have her little dress all picked out and everything. Winter has finally hit and I am NOT enjoying it. It’s cold, it’s wet, it’s windy/rainy/snowy. Welcome to December.
Here is a video of Gracie talking for a full 30 seconds. She was sitting on the couch, toppled over, and this is what she had to say about the whole thing.
Call of Duty MW2
*points to title* I’ve been playing that game entiely too much lately but I love it. Granted, I suck. I will admit i’m the kind of person who goes 7 and 40 sometimes but I don’t care. I have fun and since I play with my husband, his best friend Corey (like a brother to me), my brother, and a friend/his brother, we all form teams and have a lot of fun. We do a lot of mosh pit and headquarters. I changed my display name to something not girl centered b/c I got sick of the guys making snide comments towards me online, although I had 5 of my guys jumping down their throats when they did (My brother especially, he got FURIOUS). If you play feel free to add me on Steam as silvergirl0007. We also do a bit of Nazi Zombies on CoD: WaW if you’re interested in that. Ok, enough game rambling.
I scheduled Gracie’s Christmas pictures for The 14th of Dec I think. We were going to do family pictures but the coupon allows 1 subject and we’re tight on money right now so I’d rather get hers and wait on the family pics. Speaking of money tightness, Randy’s hours are cut at work. He went from 6 days a week with mostly 12.5 hour shifts to this week he worked 4 days of 8 hour shifts. *whine* The only reason is because the cool whip department is down for 3-5 weeks so people in that department are coming to lunch-ables if they don’t want to be laid off so less work to do. They also have one of their lines down so that further limits hours. Next month should be a lot better. We did get a Christmas package from the company though which had a lot of meat, a Digiornio pizza, and 12 huge containers of cool whip. Anyone need some? LOL. For the record, he works at the Kraft factory doing both lunch-able placing and sanitation depending on the day.
